The PhD will be part of a larger project on Release on Demand Fertilizers which is currently under development in the department. The project aims at ensuring highly efficient plant supply of P and micronutrients by developing fertilizer formulations or nugget structures that will remain unreacted with the surrounding soil, until a plant root in the vicinity triggers nutrient release. Senior researchers Jakob Magid, and Lars S. Jensen from the Soil Fertility research group and Jan K. Schjorring from the Plant Nutrition research group will be involved in the supervision and the PhD will collaborate with two other postdocs also employed on the project.
