Applicants are invited to apply for a Research Associate position in an EPSRC funded project aimed at developing new radical synthetic chemistry applicable to scale synthesis under flow-reactor conditions. The applicant will explore new methods for the synthesis of heterocycles via novel radical chemistry and will explore the potential to convert this to a flow-reactor approach in order to produce sub-kilo quantities of compounds. The post is funded for 2 years in the first instance and is available immediately.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a related subject. Experience of Synthetic Organic Chemistry is essential and a background in flow chemistry and radical chemistry is desirable. Detailed mechanistic studies will be carried out in the project and experience in this is also desirable
