This post will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees for four years and include an annual maintenance grant and salary. This award is open to suitable new UK/EU and International (i.e., outside the EU) applicants. Please note though that the award covers tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only. International applicants (and those not eligible to pay UK/EU tuition fees) must demonstrate at the time of their application that they can fund the difference in tuition fee rates. Funding for this post is available for four years from 1 October 2013. Appointment to the post is subject to formal confirmation that you are registered, and continue to be registered for the duration of your post as a full-time student with the University of Leicester..
The research areas of this scholarship are: The studentship is open to applicants wishing to pursue doctoral research in any area of history that can be supervised by the School’s academic staff.
Who can apply to this scholarship? Applicants must have a first
· class or high upper second
· class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in history or a relevant discipline and meet the University’s Standard English language entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree with merit or distinction or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before October 2013.
· It is desirable that applicants should have teaching experience/experience in the delivery of field training.
· This post  is open to suitable UK/EU and International (i.e., outside the EU) applicants. Please note though that the award covers tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only.
