The position is aimed for PhD studies and research to be performed jointly with group members and collaboration partners, leading to a PhD degree. The position includes a competitive salary for a period of four years of research time, provided that expected study and research results are achieved. The position may also include part-time work (up to 20%) as teaching assistant. If so, the total time for the position is extended accordingly (up to a maximum of five years). Of interest for the position is mainly the following direction of research.
-Applicants are expected to hold an MSc degree in computer science or a related field. -In addition to excellent study results, excellence in systems development, software engineering practices, and proficiency in modern programming languages and software development tools are expected. Strong systems skills with in-depth knowledge of grid computing, cloud computing, high-performance computing, high-throughput computing, and/or other types of distributed systems are highly valuable. -Experience of open source environments and from software or research-oriented industry are other desirable merits.
