The School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University is funding postdoctoral fellowship in the field of sustainable energy technology, behavior and policy. The School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University seeks to fill a post-doctoral position in the Energy and Materials Research Group (EMRG), specializing in the social, technical and policy aspects of sustainable energy systems. The School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada) is a dynamic graduate school in which both social and natural scientists apply multi-disciplinary app roaches to research in resource and environmental management. The School seeks to fill a post-doctoral position in the Energy and Materials Research Group (EMRG), specializing in the social, technical and policy aspects of sustainable energy systems. The successful applicant will work on a variety of projects with Dr. Jonn Axsen, potentially including (but not limited to) consumer perceptions and valuation of alternative fuel and plug-in electric vehicles, citizen acceptance of large-scale energy projects, social influence and adoption of low-carbon energy technologies, and modeling the social impacts of environmental and climate policies.. Who can apply to this scholarship?
· We invite applications from recent PhD’s seeking to develop (or continuing to develop) research careers relating to sustainable energy technology, behavior and policy.
· A wide range of methodological skills will be considered as assets, including: survey design and analysis, advanced statistical analysis, discrete choice modeling, energy
· economy modeling (e.g. optimization, CGE or simulation models), transportation modeling, diffusion modeling, agent
· based modeling, social network analysis, qualitative interviews and ethnographic analysis.
· The ideal candidate will be very eager to conduct novel, useful research in this field, and to publish results in t op
· level academic journals.
· The candidate will also help to advise and mentor graduate students, and help to manage related research projects. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
Benefits of the scholarship: The salary is $45k per year (Canadian), in addition to statutory benefits and shared payment o f Basic Health and Hospital Insurance (MSP) as is applicable.
