The post-doc can work on the optical design, basic electronic design, layout, and/or characterization of fabricated devices and photonic circuits; the ideal candidate will be able to contribute to all of these activities. The main emphasis of the project is on the photonic part of electronic-photonic circuits and the ideal candidate must have a strong background in integrated optics. he project is carried out in collaboration with MIT, and about two 3-week trips to MIT will be required for discussions and characterization part of the work. While applications will be considered until the end of 2012, the position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found, so early applications are encouraged. The start date can be as early as August 1, 2012. The post-doc will receive a competitive salary and benefits. Applicants from all parts of the world are welcome.
the ideal candidate must have a strong background in integrated optics. However, we are also interested to consider a candidate whose primary background is in semiconductor electronic devices, with experienced in using tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre from Mentor Graphics, who has some knowledge of photonics and interest to learn more.
